Divine K-9 Winter Agility Clinics
Sharpen Your Transitions
Agility is all about teamwork. Your dog knows what to do and when to do it based on the information you give him. Lots of times, turns are wide, the dog jumps long, or turns in the wrong direction because of weak transition cues. This clinic will focus on the timing and execution, sharpening your transitions.
This clinic is open to dogs competing in or about to compete at the Advanced or Masters level. This clinic is also open to those dogs that are at the Novice level, but have attended at least one clinic with Divine K-9 in the past 12 months or is given special permission.
DATE: Sunday January 8, 2012 (4 working spots left)
TIME: 9am to 5pm (lunch not included)
TUITION: Working spots are $150 per
team and auditing spots are $70 per person.
LOCATION: PetMinders Inc.: 83 Old Stirling Rd. Warren, NJ 07059 . We will be working on turf and have climate control (yay!).
Feet Don't Fail Me Now!
Does your dog ever take an off course and you wonder why? Often our feet can give different information to our dogs than we intended. In this 4-hour clinic, you will learn how to use your feet to give clear information to your dog. Whether you are sending, turning, or crossing, your feet are a valuable part of the direction equation. Fancy Footwork is not just for the little dogs!
This clinic is appropriate for dogs over 1 year old who can do short sequences on jumps and tunnels. Dogs that are competing at higher levels are also welcome.

Lost in Space
Have you ever prepared to send your dog in a particular direction and find yourself totally lost in no man's land as your dog sails in the wrong direction? Have you ever prepared to Front Cross and on completion of your turn, your dog drives right past the obstacle because you are several feet from your intended destination?
This clinic deals with spatial relations, where we look at the specific positional cues and how to get there and stay in position. "Lost in Space" will help folks who have trouble getting to and staying in the right spots on course, and how to fix that.
This clinic is open to dogs that are competing at all levels, whether this skill is a struggle, or you just want to improve your execution of it. This clinic is also open to those dogs that are less experienced, but have attended at least one clinic with Divine K-9 in the past 12 months or is given special permission.

Serpentines, Threadles, & Push-thrus...oh my!
It's time to get fancy! As courses become more complex in the different venues, the four-legged members of our teams need more information to execute them with success. Consistent arm changes and clear body cues can help do this, regardless of athletic ability.
Bobbie will design courses to allow teams to practice serpentines, threadles, and push-thrus. Under her watchful eye, you will have the opportunity to "see" where to utilize these handling skills while improving your timing of execution.
This clinic is open to dogs competing in or about to compete at the Advanced or Masters level. This clinic is also open to those dogs that are at the Novice level, but have attended at least one clinic with Divine K-9 in the past 12 months or is given special permission.

Would you like to raise your agility handling to a whole new level of excellence? Do you need to improve your handling so you can successfully navigate the challenges you will see on course in 2010 and beyond?
This handling clinic will teach you how to balance the dog's drive to you with her drive to obstacles while you learn to and execute the handling moves needed to conquer the European-style challenges that we are now seeing here in North America! Tracy's goal is to build the handler's confidence on difficult European-style challenges - and that will make Excellent and Masters courses seem quite do-able by comparison!
This clinic is appropriate only for dogs competing successfully in Masters/Excellent. If you are not currently competing at this level, special requests to participate may be granted on a case by case basis.
